Speak up for Colorado families today!
Urge your legislators to amend the State Budget or "Long Bill" to invest in Colorado's Family Planning Program.
Over the last year, and in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2022 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, communities across the country are experiencing a significant decrease in access to reproductive health care, including family planning services.
Colorado has stepped up to provide timely care for all who need it. The passage of important reproductive health policies puts our state in the position to proudly provide critical reproductive health care to both Coloradans and out-of-state travelers.
However, the historic progress Colorado has made in expanding access to family planning services is at risk due to stagnant funding and limited provider capacity.
Colorado has the opportunity to alleviate some of the pressure on families and reproductive health providers by investing in a program that is proven to work: the Family Planning Program at the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE). By investing additional dollars into this proven program through the State Budget or “Long Bill,” Colorado can continue to improve maternal and infant health, help young people achieve their academic and professional goals, and help families have children when the time is right for them.
For the Email portion, we encourage you to change the greeting to include the names of the state senator and representative you are provided. A recommended greeting adjustment would be: "Dear Senator [Last Name] and Representative [Last Name],"
Also, remember to sign your name at the bottom for a personal touch! Advocates can adjust the letter -- so if you are comfortable sharing a personal experience about the importance of family planning services to you, feel free to add it. Your legislator wants to hear from YOU. Thank you for speaking up!
There are no officials for you to contact on Twitter.
Thank you so much for being willing to reach out to your legislators!
Unfortunately, it looks like you do not live in the district of any of the legislators currently considering this policy. We will notify you when another opportunity to advocate for family planning arises!
